Motor racing-Wayward manhole cover disrupts practice

BEIJING, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Beijing's ambitions to join the international motor racing circuit suffered another blow on Saturday when a wayward manhole cover disrupted practice for the Olympic city's inaugural A1GP race.

Organisers flagged drivers off the track 25 minutes into a 90-minute practice session after the speeding cars shook loose a manhole cover on the rapidly built circuit.

Xinhua said the 3.2-km track in the city's southeast was prepared in two months, much faster than the time usually needed.
